Exelon Names Beth Pitts-Madonna as New Chief Human Resources Officer

Leadership transition marks a new chapter in talent strategy for the Fortune 200 energy company.

Chicago, USA, November 21, 2025 – Exelon has announced a major leadership change as Elizabeth (Beth) Pitts-Madonna is set to become the company’s senior vice president and chief human resources officer effective January 1, 2026. She will take over the role from Denise Galambos, who is retiring after an impressive 21-year career with the organization.

In her new position, Pitts-Madonna will report directly to Exelon President and CEO Calvin Butler and join the company’s Executive Committee. She will oversee the entire human resources function, shaping talent strategy, employee development, and people-focused initiatives for Exelon’s 20,000-employee workforce.

A Strong Background in Talent Leadership

Pitts-Madonna brings more than two decades of experience from Northrop Grumman, where she worked across several divisions, including Space Systems and Innovation Systems. Most recently, she served as vice president of Talent, overseeing recruitment, leadership development, digital HR transformation, and workforce planning for nearly 100,000 employees.

CEO Calvin Butler highlighted her strengths, saying her inclusive and forward-thinking approach to talent will be essential as the energy industry continues its rapid transformation. He also thanked outgoing HR leader Denise Galambos for her long-standing contributions and leadership.

Pitts-Madonna, originally from Ashburn, Virginia, holds degrees from Boston University and Boston College. She also serves as the chair of the Penn-Mar Human Services Board, which supports individuals with intellectual disabilities in Pennsylvania and Maryland. She will be based in Exelon’s Washington, D.C. office.
