The American Association of Nurse Anesthetists (AANA) has officially launched a new interactive career exploration platform called MOTION, which is designed to assist each of AANA’s members in making informed career choices. According to certain reports, MOTION delivers on its promised value proposition by presenting users, upon login, with a map that features CRNA (Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetists) employer locations. Talk about these locations, each location will be notably flagged and searchable as one of the three designations i.e. inactive sites, networking sites, and hiring sites. Starting with inactive sites, they will allow employers to add branding and update the information for their practice sites and providers at any time, and guess what, they also don’t have to bear a dime in charges. Next up, we have networking sites. Here, like the name might suggest, the idea is to let employers upgrade their sites to “networking” status to build a talent pipeline or hire through a rather opportunistic strategy. These networking sites are also, as an ancillary purpose, meant to contain detailed employer information to dramatically simplify decision-making on the user’s part. At last, there are dedicated hiring sites, a designation which has its utility rooted in helping you identify locations with active job operations. In simpler terms, hiring sites will deliver everything that networking sites have to offer, but it will also throw in, as a unique selling point, unlimited job postings for that location.

Then, there is an option which makes it possible for employers to engage with users before the latter party submits an application. Among other features, one can look at how you can follow a site or entire market to get notifications regarding material changes, while simultaneously roping in AANA career liaisons’ help in the context of career option research, as well as facilitating member referrals to employers.

Founded way back in 1931, the American Association of Nurse Anesthesiology is today an organization which represents well over 61,000 Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetists and student registered nurse anesthetists across the United States. It’s an initiative of huge importance, as these CRNAs sustain the country’s healthcare infrastructure by administering more than 50 million anesthetics to patients each year. They also represent a whopping 80% of the anesthesia providers in rural counties.
