Enlightening Your Way to Better Career Opportunities

There is surely a lot that human beings can do well, but at the same time, there is little we do better than growing on a consistent basis. This tendency to improve, no matter the situation, has got us to hit upon some huge milestones, with technology appearing as a rather unique member of the group. The reason why technology’s credentials are so anomalous is based on its skill-set, which was unprecedented enough to usher us towards a reality that nobody could have ever imagined otherwise. Nevertheless, a closer look should be able to reveal how the whole runner was also very much inspired by the way we applied those skills across a real world environment. The latter component was, in fact, what gave the creation a spectrum-wide presence and made it the ultimate centerpiece of every horizon. Now, having such an ingenious tool run the show did scale up our experience from many different directions, but even after reaching so far ahead, this prodigious concept called technology will somehow continue to bring out the right goods. The same has turned increasingly evident over the recent past, and assuming a new collaboration works out like we envision, it will only make that trend bigger and better moving forward.

The Computing Technology Industry Association (CompTIA), a leading voice and advocate for the $5 trillion global information technology ecosystem, has officially teamed up with IBM to provide more than 2,000 people from underrepresented communities with necessary training to work as technical support or desk professionals. Conceived to complement the company’s wider workforce development efforts, CompTIA’s latest initiative will function alongside IBM Skillsbuild, which is basically a free education program dedicated to service minorities by offering over 1,000 courses in 19 languages. These courses cover a wide range of disciplines, including cybersecurity, data analysis, cloud computing, and plenty others. Here, the idea is to deliver a platform that helps underserved adult learners, high school kids, and university students, in developing various new skills and access diverse career opportunities. Another detail worth a mention here is how IBM Skillsbuild is also well-equipped to give each learner their own customized practical learning experiences, something that feeds into their individual skill-sets and allows more optimal growth over the long-term.

Coming back to the joint effort of CompTIA and IBM, the initiative is further expected to provide specialized training that focuses solely on developing durable skills, such as critical thinking, leadership, collaboration, and more.

“This program supports CompTIA’s mission of unlocking the potential of tech job seekers from all communities,” said Mark Plunkett, senior vice president of global solutions and services with CompTIA. “CompTIA has a long-standing and ongoing commitment to building a robust tech workforce by helping individuals grow in confidence and unlock their potential to work in tech.”

Hold on, there are still some bits left to unpack. To give the program a greater chance of succeeding, the two companies will also rope in several employers and government organizations so to expand career development options, and establish a strong and sustainable pipeline of skilled workers.

“Government-funded workforce development programs can struggle to bring private sector partners to the table,” said Plunkett. “This program is a collaboration with IBM from the private sector, combined with CompTIA’s not-for-profit mission so state and local agencies and community-based organizations with an interest in workforce development will have new opportunities to bring training programs to their communities.”
