A Modern Take on Scaling Up Leadership Quality


The human arsenal has various boast-worthy capabilities, but honestly, it is still yet to possess anything more valuable than that tendency of improving on a consistent basis. Paycor, a leading provider of human capital management (HCM) software, has officially launched a new COR Leadership Dashboard, which is purposed around providing you with actionable data regarding leadership effectiveness so to drive better engagement and maximize performance. But what helps this dashboard in gauging the stated efficiency? Well, it bases its judgement on three different metrics i.e. coach, optimize, and retain. In the Coaching aspect, the technology studies how someone holding a leadership role is investing in individual employees, and therefore, getting them to uncover their holistic career aspirations. The idea here is to analyze those aspirations and align them with the company’s mission and other strategic objectives. Next up, we dig through the Optimization metric, where the primary goal is ensuring employees are meeting team, as well as personal goals, and the dashboard does so by simply calling for greater accountability on both the fronts. Lastly, we cover Retain. This one is all about incentivizing employees in a manner which actively makes them and their contributions feel valued, thus improving retention across the board, a benefit that automatically reduces hiring costs for the company.

Interestingly, this isn’t first time Paycor has tried to scale up leadership quality in the commercial space. The company previously introduced a COR Leadership Framework, which aimed at inspiring companies to invest in effective frontline leaders.

In terms of how the whole operation works on a more practical note, the dashboard leverages the survey capabilities embedded in Paycor Pulse to collect feedback from employee reports, with their assessment covering all three proverbial metrics. The said assessment is then treated with native language processing techniques to categorize unstructured feedback by theme and positive/negative sentiment. Through clear-cut categorization, the leaders are able to quickly understand what areas they must focus upon.
