Giving Your Organization’s Skill Structure a More Sound Foundation

Date:

Human beings might have proven to be good at many different things, but there still remains an awful little that we better than growing on a consistent basis. We say this because the stated ability has already fetched the world some huge milestones, with technology appearing as a rather unique member of the group. The reason why technology’s credentials are so anomalous is purposed around its skill-set, which was unprecedented enough to realize all the possibilities for us that we couldn’t have imagined otherwise. Nevertheless, a closer look should be able to reveal how the whole runner was also very much inspired by the way we applied those skills across a real world environment. The latter component was, in fact, what gave the creation a spectrum-wide presence and made it the ultimate centerpiece of every horizon. Now, having such a powerful tool run the show did expand our experience in many different directions, but even after reaching so far ahead, this prodigious concept called technology will somehow keep on delivering the right goods. The same has grown to become a lot more evident in recent times, and assuming one new HRM-themed development pans out just like we envision, it will only propel that trend towards greater heights over the near future and beyond.

Accenture has officially expanded its collaboration with Workday, a leading provider of enterprise cloud applications for finance and human resources, to accelerate their clients’ adoption of skills-based talent strategies and help unlock greater agility and potential. Under the agreed terms, Accenture will leverage Workday Skills Cloud to guide organizations in better understanding the skills and proficiencies within their workforce, identify the skills needed for future growth, and uncover reskilling opportunities in the areas that will have the most meaningful business impact. In case you didn’t know, Workday Skills Cloud is an open and interconnected AI skills intelligence foundation. Anyway, talk about how will the whole thing look on a more granular level? Well, the answer begins from Accenture’s brand-new skill proficiency calculator. Built on Workday Extend, this proficiency calculator puts to use native and non-native Workday data, alongside Workday Skills Cloud to help identify and validate the skills and associated skill proficiency of employees. Next up, we have an integrated skills calculator, which bases its knowhow in tools like Workday Learning, Workday Journeys, and Workday Prism to deliver on its promised value proposition. Here, we will also bank upon Accenture talent transformation capabilities to effectively support closing workforce skill gaps. Having referred to what Accenture will be bringing of its own to the picture, it will further trust its consulting services to help organizations understand industry-relevant skills, sources of skills, and leading practices for skill transformation. Rounding the up highlights is an exclusive joint software and services bundle that is going to have a use case when the agenda is facilitating a cohesive and agile customer adoption journey.

“To enable the workforce of the future, companies need to begin to organize work around skills – where skills are the currency that enable people to learn new things, change roles, find projects, and grow their career,” said Penelope Prett, senior managing director, and Workday Business Group lead at Accenture. “Many companies don’t know what skills they have, nor do they believe they have the data to figure it out. With Workday’s software and data and Accenture’s skills capability and services, we are helping organizations crack the code to becoming skills-driven.”

The development notably provides an interesting follow-up to one report published by CXOs, a report which claimed that skilling and developing the workforce is a challenge that is most likely to hamper organizational growth over the course of next 12 months. But what makes these two companies an ideal candidate to solve such a problem?

Well, beginning from Workday, the company is vouched for by the way it is reforming financial management, human resources planning, spend management, and analytics. Running on machine learning and AI, Workday is currently in use across 10,000 organizations, spanning different industries and different countries. The said clientele makes for an interesting read because it has, at present medium-sized businesses, as well as more than 50% of the Fortune 500 companies.

Moving on to Accenture, it is best known for helping  world’s leading businesses, governments, and other organizations build their digital core, optimize their operations, accelerate revenue growth, and enhance citizen services. The company is able to do so through a set of services that, although unique in nature, are all focused on creating 360° value. Showcasing Accenture’s importance in the context of its partnership with Workday is the company’s footprint, which currently stretches across over 120 countries.

“Nearly 2,000 organizations use Workday Skills Cloud to inform decisions around talent and staffing,” said David Somers, group general manager, office of the chief human resource officer product at Workday. “This expansion is an exciting step in our ecosystem partnership with Accenture and the skills-focused solutions we’re offering. By combining data from Accenture’s skill proficiency calculator with the AI in Workday Skills Cloud, we’ll help customers upskill and prepare their people for the future of work.”
