Riding the Potential of People Insights to Elevate Your Business

Visier, the globally recognized leader in people analytics and workforce solutions for people-powered business, has officially announced a series of new moves, moves which are all designed to instigate a landmark shift in how we view and use people analytics. According to certain reports, the idea driving this whole effort is to eliminate people analytics as a specialized reporting and analysis discipline within HR departments, replacing it with people analytics as a pervasive data strategy where trusted and secure workforce insights inform virtually every people-related decision and workflow. Talk about how the company will achieve this objective, the answer begins from a generative AI assistant named Vee. Vee’s selling proposition is the way it makes trusted and secure people insights as simple as asking a natural language question. Owing to this ability, managers and HR leaders can bank upon it to get the required answers regarding their workforce, and therefore, gain a better understanding of the same. Another possible use case talks to Vee’s role as a programmatic developer service within Alpine, Visier’s platform as a service (PaaS) which provides the company’s benchmark data and much of its underlying tooling as APIs and other modular platform services. Together, the solutions will allow companies to integrate generative AI capabilities into their in-house products, thus helping them deliver private labeled digital assistant to their own customers. Initially announced in June 2023, Vee is now set for a public preview.

“Every problem we need to solve in HR is interconnected,” said Josh Bersin, a globally recognized industry expert. “Suppose a sales organization is underperforming. Is this a problem of leadership? Management? Hiring the wrong people? Sales training? Or maybe are they organized incorrectly and they need new territories or accounts? Or could they be underpaid or overpaid? Or could they feel disconnected from the company strategy? Or maybe the reward system has created a lack of teamwork? HR professionals need to connect this data together to diagnose the problem, and tools like Vee make this amazingly easy.”

Anyway, we referred to Visier’s Alpine platform; it will also receive some major enhancements as a part of the company’s latest moves. For instance, the platform will now have a brand-new developers’ hub, which is going to include public technical documentation. Next up, it will be given a library of code samples to complete APIs for data intake and export.  This covers Python and SQL-like shell scripts. Alpine will also, from here onwards, feature pre-built people data models, metrics and analyses so to expedite the very process of building and delivering analytic features and applications. However, those aren’t going to be the only pre-built elements, considering the platform will further have on the offer a catalog of pre-built connectors for source systems and BI tools. Since hitting the ground last year, Alpine’s flexibility and an overall customer-centric nature has bolstered Visier’s Embedded business, doubling the division’s revenue and partner count. As of today, more than 42,000 companies, representing more than 20 million employee record under management, rely on Visier for people insights.

Moving on, Visier also confirmed its entry into the Total Rewards category through a Compensation Benchmark data offering. This is a rather interesting follow-up on the company’s earlier launch of a tool called Smart Compensation, which would streamline and optimize compensation planning and execution with a unique data-driven approach so to ensure consistency, fairness, equity, and maximum business impact in compensation allocation during merit cycles. Although more than capable of being standalone, the new Compensation Benchmark data can also work alongside Smart Compensation to let businesses access data sourced, not from outdated surveys, but from millions of live data points.
