Reaching for a Long-desired Idea of Skill-based Hiring

Date:

The human arsenal has always been known to contain a lot, but at the same time, it doesn’t have anything more significant than our ability to grow on a consistent basis. We say this because the stated ability has already fetched the world some huge milestones, with technology appearing as a rather unique member of the group. The reason why technology’s credentials are so anomalous is purposed around its skill-set, which was unprecedented enough to realize all the possibilities for us that we couldn’t have imagined otherwise. Nevertheless, a closer look should be able to reveal how the whole runner was also very much inspired by the way we applied those skills across a real world environment. The latter component was, in fact, what gave the creation a spectrum-wide presence and made it the ultimate centerpiece of every horizon. Now, having such a powerful tool run the show did expand our experience in many different directions, but even after reaching so far ahead, this prodigious concept called technology will somehow keep on delivering the right goods. The same has grown to become a lot more evident in recent times, and assuming one new HRM-themed development pans out just like we envision, it will only propel that trend towards greater heights over the near future and beyond.

HireVue, the pioneer and global leader in Human Potential Intelligence, has officially announced a brand-new category for hiring; a category which preaches a forward-thinking paradigm to assess candidates based on their skills and potential. According to certain reports, the approach in question will leverage AI to evaluate candidates based on potential, skills, and interests. Given the analytical capabilities brought into play by such an approach, the new recruitment framework will effectively eliminate all guesswork from the process, replacing it with a deeper understanding of each and every candidate. But how will HireVue achieve this objective on a practical note? Well, it will do so through a dedicated solution called Find My Fit. The solution, for starters, will empower candidates to discover positions that match their skills and potential in the first place. This instantly enhances the user’s job experience, as well as their long-term fit within a given company and position. However, if you aren’t looking to stay in one place for an extended period of time, then Find My Fit will also facilitate on your behalf a notably smooth career transition. Such a feature is extremely useful for someone who desires a career change but hasn’t got the clue on how to navigate through an ever-evolving job landscape. HireVue’s latest brainchild, fortunately enough, is well-equipped to inform you on roles where you can be successful, regardless of your prior experience. We referred to how this solution will transform the entire recruitment space, the context for that is rooted in the way Find My Fit moves past conventional resumes and qualifications to prioritize the candidate’s practical skills. The product also has a diversity angle to it, as its suggested roles are strictly based on the person’s potential rather than their race, sex, or religion. This means, assuming there is a fit, Find My Fit should encourage candidates to consider roles which they would have never thought about otherwise.

“Relying on the constructs of the past like resumes and job descriptions falls short in identifying potential, HireVue’s innovative approach that brings together both the art and science of hiring by design, supported by their industry-leading AI, stands out as a beacon of change. By focusing on the skills and potential of the humans in the hiring process, this new category redefines hiring criteria and opens doors for companies to hire for the needs of today and ensure they have the right talent for the future,” said Madeline Laurano, Founder & Chief Analyst of Aptitude Research.

The move from HireVue delivers an intriguing follow-up to one research conducted by the company. According to HireVue Hiring Experience Report 2023, out of 3000 people who participated, nearly 40% deemed a lack of feedback as one majorly frustrating point, whereas 30% criticized the constraint of resumes rather than assessment based on potential and skills. An estimated 31% participants rued the widespread prevalence of inaccurate job descriptions, and 37% strongly indicated the need for more streamlined processes to adapt to new requirements. These findings were confirmed by Global Survey when it claimed that 30% of employees and candidates worldwide now reject the resume led hiring approach.

Turning our attention to what makes HireVue an ideal player to take on the stated problem, the answer stems from its deep expertise in science, AI, and data. The testimony for the company’s ability can also be hand once you learn how it is currently serving over 1,150 pioneering customers around the globe including over 60% of the Fortune 100. For these customers, HireVue has, so far, hosted more than 70 million video interviews and 200 million chat-based candidate engagements. The numbers, though, should only get better on the back of its latest effort.

“Hiring is in need of a revolution, and we firmly believe that the antidote lies in technology guided by science. Conventional hiring practices tend to overlook the untapped potential of candidates, fixating on past achievements. Instead, we’re creating a world where every candidate, regardless of the outcome, gains valuable insights and redirection towards roles that align better with their potential,” said Anthony Reynolds, CEO at HireVue.
