A Joint Effort to Bring Forth Your Fair Share of Perks

Date:

Human beings are known for many different things, but most importantly, they are known for getting better on a consistent basis. This tendency to improve, no matter the situation, has fetched the world some pretty huge milestones, with technology emerging as a rather unique member of the group. The reason why technology’s credentials are so anomalous is centered on its skill-set, which was unprecedented enough to realize all the possibilities for us that we couldn’t have imagined otherwise. Nevertheless, a closer look should be able to reveal how the whole runner was also very much very much inspired by the way we applied those skills across a real world environment. The latter component was, in fact, what gave the creation a spectrum-wide presence and made it the ultimate centerpiece of every horizon. Now, having such a powerful tool run the show did scale up our experience through some outright unique avenues, but even after reaching so far ahead, this prodigious concept called technology will somehow continue to deliver the goods. The same has become a lot more evident over the recent past, and assuming one HRM-themed development shakes out just like we envision, it will only propel that trend towards bigger heights in the near future and beyond.

Wonolo, an on-demand job marketplace, has officially partnered with GigEasy to ensure a wider access of portable benefits for gig workers. Under the partnership, Wonolo will bank upon GigEasy’s ability to connect independent workers with insurance packages for the purpose of providing them benefits that are comparable to what we see in a traditional full-time job. These benefits, according to certain reports, include health, dental, vision, rent protection, and more, that workers will be able to notably maintain regardless of the services they provide and the jobs they work. To give you a more practical lowdown of the promised incentives, by using GigEasy’s SickPay insurance, workers can submit a doctor’s note if they miss a day or more of work, and still receive up to 60% of their regular pay for that day. Another such feature is evident in the company’s RentProtect insurance product, which covers a worker’s rent for up to six months in an event where they are unable to work due to a qualifying illness or injury.

“At Wonolo, our mission has always been supporting the needs of the gig economy and making sure that gig workers have the resources they need to thrive,” said Yong Kim, CEO of Wonolo. “We’re happy to partner with GigEasy to continue this mission by providing Wonoloers access to portable benefits, which has historically been challenging for this category of workers. Everyone deserves access to health and financial benefits, regardless of what type of work they do or who they work for.”

Surely, GigEasy has a significant role to play here, but Wonolo also boasts sizeable experience of its own in helping gig workers get their deserved perks. The company has achieved this feat largely through its Wonolo Up initiative, a program that connects Wonoloers to providers of healthcare, financial services, and more. With Wonolo Up, workers can enjoy basic benefits whether or not they work jobs posted on the Wonolo platform, and they can even do so at a time and place of their convenience.

Some examples of Wonolo’s previous efforts in the said area cover the company’s partnership with investment and savings platform, Acorns, that includes a $30 bonus investment once a Wonoloer makes their first investment. At GoodRx, it provides a $10 VISA gift card once a Wonoloer applies their first coupon using former’s platform, while through Keeper, it ensures the availability of discounted tax filing, with Wonoloers only expected to pay $79 for the service.
